Gron Fated Ruth Gron Book 2 eBook VC Lancaster

I loved Gron's Fated. It's a worthy sequel to Ruth's Bonded, sexy, sweet, and romantic. Fortunately (for my reading tastes, anyway), the author chose to keep Ruth & Gron monogamous, and I can't wait to discover what's next for them. It seems the little green alien conservationists are stealing more women from earth, which makes me happy for the Gandry and for Ruth, who will no doubt appreciate earthling neighbors.
Small spoiler ahead--Kranu and Troii show up with a woman at the very end. I'm wondering where this will go. I hated Kranu but love it when a good author can redeem a bad man, errr man-monkey-alien. So maybe Kranu will get his HEA? Of course, the Gandry are polygamous, so maybe Lancaster is planning MFM for the next book. I dislike menage stories, so I won't be reading bk 3 if that's the plot. I'd kinda like to see all these guys who were passed over and sorta rejected get their own, individual queen.
I absolutely adore Ruth and Gron. Despite all their many differences, Lancaster has made their happily ever after totally believable.

Gron Fated Ruth Gron Book 2 eBook VC Lancaster Reviews

Second in this series, I was just as amazed and thrilled with this plot as I was with the first book. I highly recommend this story to more mature readers who realize that love is not always just about sex and can appreciate world building.
Following Ruth and Gron in their struggle to survive and to understand each other and their wildly different cultures has become a fixation. I can hardly wait another year for their story to continue. Giving her characters realistic challenges, the author has created a fascinating world with complex people. Very enjoyable!
I loved the first book and I loved this one just as much and I hope that there is another one. It was a little different, They are in love and there is essentially no mutual language. It is impossible to describe this series without spoiling the read so. Boy or male meets girl. Girl nearly loses boy and you don't know if they are going to live happily ever after. It is interesting to me, but that doesn't mean it is going to be interesting to you. They first book is titled Ruth's bonded. I was blubbering near the end of the first book. That is not a bad thing really.
I can already tell that Lancaster is going to be one of those authors I automatically purchase.

Positives The whole universe is pretty well developed. Gron's people have a unique culture that makes sense, and definitely doesn't have a direct earth counterpart as is often seen. A huge positive is that THE ALIENS ARE NOT JUST SPACE HUMANS! Yeah, had to put that in caps. I like plenty off books where the aliens are basically humans with some minor cosmetic differences, only faster and stronger, possibly with some other abilities we'd like to have. But the aliens that Ms. Lancaster has created are a unique species, with biologic differences that are not just super powers, and said differences have a strong effect on their culture. It makes sense how the characters would react to the situation, not being able to communicate and the culture clash. Heck, the fact that there is a culture clash and miscommunications is a large part of what makes this story interesting.

Negatives This is not a stand alone story. Both the Ruth & Gron books each have the rising and falling actions and climax of stand alone stories, but you'd be missing a lot by not reading both in order. Since they're both novella length and really one complete story, that does make the price a little high for the wordcount we're getting. I feel as if we'll have the same situation with the next installment being a continuation of this one story, as this one felt like there was just a little missing that hasn't been gotten to yet. And, you know, the mini cliff hanger.

The Ruth & Gron books are a really great beginning for a new indie author and I would definitely recommend people keep an eye out for more.
Anyone who likes _Transcendence_ by Shay Savage will love the Ruth & Gron books. This is the second book in athe serial (following Ruth's Bonded (Ruth & Gron Book 1)), and definitely not a cliffhanger. I believe _Gron's Fated_ perfectly concludes Ruth's and Gron's love story. Book 3 (not yet published) looks like it will focus on a different h and H. The series definitely contains some major steam but is more romance than erotica, imo, fulfilling *four* of my own all-time-favorite tropes

H is not initially attracted to h
H and h cannot communicate linguistically-- only physically and emotionally
H and h's romance is a 'cabin or roadside'-type (actually, in their case a cage, cave, jungle, and tree-house!)
**** (and my fourth favorite trope is a spoiler, dealing with the perfect ending)

Honestly, as much as I adore(d) Ruth & Gron Book 1-- _Ruth's Bonded_ from start to finish, I had established too many wishes and expectations for Book 2 and *still* _Gron's Fated_ was even better than I was hoping (which is awesome to me)!

This story provoked even more out-loud laughs from me (I totally love Ruth and her attempts to understand the Gandry matriarchy and communicate her own thoughts/feelings with Gron's previous tribe) and quite a few gasps and quick paragraph rereads as I tried to anticipate what would happen next at certain crucial points. A few times, I was pleading silently but without much hope that Ruth and Gron's story wouldn't go in a direction I just didn't want it to go . . . and then when the characters metaphorically stopped and turned around again, choosing such a better path, I was so relieved I wanted to just hug them both!

And the ending! <trying to write this with no spoilers> . . . their story even got a few tears from me, there. I absolutely loooooovvved the ending. So much. I reread the final chapters three times just to savor it. Really, far superior to everything I wished for.

I loved _Ruth's Bonded_ . . . and _Gron's Fated_ is even better! Ruth's decisions are so admirable throughout and Gron is so consistently sweet and heartbreakingly devoted. Aww, and his and Ruth's love for each other . . . just perfect. Fated indeed! )

As much I'm looking forward to seeing Ruth and Gron again, and confirming their HEA, I felt their story concluded perfectly in this second book in this series and am now just looking forward to getting to know the H and h of Book 3.

There are no characters I despise in these books or even dislike, really. Lancaster does a wonderful job, in such a succinct style, of letting the reader understand each character and find something to admire about them all while truly caring about what happens next. She's a very talented storyteller *and* writer (where so many other authors are one or the other, imo).

A truly delightful escape alien romance series-- my favorite for absolute certain, now.
