Raye's Dai's Dark Valetine is a quick, enjoyable read. There's paranormal layers to this story that, if pulled apart, could've made for a longer work or even a series. The author created threads that weaved around her hero and heroine's fate in a way that left me wanting more from them, as well as the supporting characters. If the author ever decides to revisit this story, she has a wealth of material to turn a good story into a great series.

This is a well written and edited paranormal suspense pitting the race of the Fey against the racist humans that want to kill them. It is also a struggle of the Dark Fey Joban who has to balance his powers and feelings for Daitre (Dai). Joban needs the balance Daitre's love will provide in his life so he is not consumed by the dark-side of his powers.
Daitre is reliant upon Joban for her protection as a target of the SANs group that are targeting Fey. After being transported to 2017 she has to adapt and develop as well as control her abilities as a Fey shifter.
Joban is distant in the beginning which confuses and frustrates Daitre but they slowly become closer. As they begin to express their love for one another they must also deal with the dangers surrounding them.
If you enjoy paranormal suspenseful romantic stories then you will enjoy this book. I would enjoy reading further in this world of Fey and learn more of Daitre's and Joban's story.

I found this book to be a quick and enjoyable read but if they auther had gone deeper into the storyline this would have made a great series. The way the authers storyline weaves between the characters was really great and I found this book more enjoyable for it. It had me quite hooked to be honest. The secondary character are also great so maybe a series with the secondary characters getting their own stories would be great idea.

A cat-shifter and a dark fey, what a mix!
I can not say enough about this book, but I know how I want to tell each of you "Buy This Book!!!!" This book is well written. The story line flows so smoothly and brings you into the contents so that you think you are part of the story

I really enjoyed this otherworldly tale of shifters and fey where the hero, Joban bends time and fights his dark nature while the heroine, Daitre comes to terms with the discovery that she is far from the human she always believed herself to be. Both are challenged to accept their own natures. At the same time they must put aside their preconceived notions of each other. Complicating matters is one family’s unreasonable pursuit of revenge that spans centuries spawning a nasty case of racism against those with fey or shifter heritages.

In an effort to protect Daitre from his enemies, her father, Alain announces her betrothal to his Captain of the Guards, Joban. Joban has protected Daitre for years, standing by stoically and aloof as she works in the local orphanage. Feeling resentful at his apparent lack of tender emotions towards her and with little choice, Daitre marries Joban before being whisked to present day New Orleans 300 years into their future. The underlying tone of the book even in the modern day has the feel of an historical. The book’s pace is fairly even gradually increasing as the suspense and action pick up. Towards the end the pace moves much more quickly as conflicts come to a head and resolutions are made. Over time Daitre comes to recognize that Joban’s actions speak louder than the words she longs to hear. Joban finds Daitre is all he needs to be grounded in the here and now. Overall this was a great read and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a bit a magic in their reading. Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great quick read of 2 people in love but where one ie Joban tries to keep his feelings masked especially as his job is to guard and keep Dai safe. But when her fathers enemy closes in he has Joban and Dai marry knowing he will keep his daughter safe obviously knowing their feelings towards each other. From their Dai and Joban go to a different time, our time where she has to learn of technology, protecting herself as well as finding out life is very different out in the wild world. I would love to know more of the fey world and the others we meet through the book as I feel they would have some great stories to tell.

Daitre Salons has a family secret she just found out about. She is a cat shifter actually a lioness. She us 23 years old and is past the time for marrying. So her father sets her up to marry Joban Beaucoup who is Captain of the Guards and a time bending Fey. They have known each other for five years and he has always watched over her. Daitre has always had a crush on him, but to be forced to marry him is unbelievable. This story starts there and really expands with Joban able to travel anywhere at anytime plus he has other skills you will see through out this story. You will meet so many different shifters and Fey that gave so many different powers. Plus there is an evil thats killing the Fey. Family secrets will be revealed and this has such a Happy ending.
